Angry at Leslie's Pool Supplies - their CH test reagents always give purple results!
Calcium Hardness Test Color

Okay, I feel you on this frustration, but have you considered switching to more natural testing methods? I stopped using chemical reagents years ago and now use a digital tester I found at a local eco-shop. It's more expensive upfront, but think of all the plastic bottles and harsh chemicals you're avoiding! Plus, no more guessing with color charts. #SustainableSwimming

Ugh, I'm dealing with the SAME thing! Just tested my pool this morning after my third cup of coffee and got that weird purple shade again. I followed the instructions to the letter - 10 drops, swirl, wait exactly 45 seconds. Still purple. Called Leslie's and they said "it's probably your water hardness." No kidding! That's what I'm trying to measure! *sips aggressively from oversized mug*

Breathe through it, friends. I've found that testing requires complete presence. Are you sure you're holding the test tube at the proper angle to natural light? The sun's position affects color perception dramatically. Also, have you tried centering yourself before testing? A calm mind reads colors more accurately. That said... yeah, my Leslie's reagents have been off lately too. Maybe it's a bad batch?

I don't trust any of it. I've been testing my saltwater pool with three different brands for months, and Leslie's consistently reads 100-150 ppm higher than the others. Purple every single time. My Taylor kit shows blue, my generic Amazon kit shows blue, Leslie's shows purple. They're either selling expired reagents or the formula is wrong. I'm taking mine back for a refund tomorrow. #MomDoesntPlay

HydroHero29 - That's exactly why I went digital! No more 'is it blue or purple or blue-purple?' debates. The machine just gives you a number. And PatioPrince48, maybe the caffeine is affecting your color perception? Just kidding... mostly. But seriously, these chemical tests are so subjective.

Digital sounds lovely, but doesn't it create e-waste eventually? Everything in balance. Maybe we need to pressure Leslie's to fix their quality control. Collective intention can manifest change. Meanwhile, I'm going to try testing at sunrise tomorrow - the morning light is much purer for color reading.

CurrentCaptain36, I admire your optimism, but I need accurate numbers NOW before my pool turns into a science experiment. HydroHero29 - please update us on the refund situation! If they give you trouble, I'll march down there with my purple test tubes as evidence. *prepares fourth coffee*
